Overview
Twenty-five hundred square metres in the centre of Athens, built around a daylit atrium.
The project
A building of roughly 2,500 m² in the commercial core of Athens, completed in 2023 and let long-term.
Behind a street elevation of concrete and timber, the floors open onto an atrium walled in faceted mirrored glass that carries daylight to the back of every plate.
Our approach
Prime central sites come up rarely, and when they do the building has to earn the ground it stands on. Here the argument is the atrium: a full-height cut through the floors, faced in faceted glass, which turns a deep plan into a daylit one and gives the building something no comparable floor plate in the district has.
The rest is deliberately raw. Soffits are left as struck, services run exposed, timber lines the window reveals and the roof is planted. It cost less to build than a fully lined interior and it will age better.
Completed in 2023 and held for income.
